Halloween is spooky and fun, but come with us and when you’re done, you’ll have done some work (but not a ton), and your door decor will be second to none!
As the teacher you see all – those who try to cheat on the test, those who are trying to text a friend while in class or those who may be napping instead of doing their quiet reading. This Halloween makes sure all your students know who’s on the lookout with a fun “Eyes on You” door decoration to welcome them to the classroom! This budget-friendly decoration is made with different sized paper plates as eyeballs!

- White, black and green paper plates of different sizes
- Metallic fringe curtain (not shown)
- Double sided tape
- Painter’s Tape
- Purple tablecloths
- Personalized banner
- Command Hooks
Begin by creating your eyes. Layer smaller black plates on top of white plates to create basic eyes. Create colored eyes by layering smaller black plates on top of medium green plates then on top of larger white plates. Use double sided tape to secure the layers together.
Cover the door and surrounding wall space with plastic tablecloths. Use painter’s tape to secure. Peel adhesive backing and attach the metallic curtain to the wall and above the door frame. Trim excess length and keep the extra piece.
Trim the fringe above the door. Peel the adhesive backing and attach that excess curtain length saved from the last step and apply to the door. Tip: open the door and fold curtain over the top and adhere on inside of the door. Now your door is well dressed yet still functional.
Attach paper plates eyes to the door and wall surfaces using loops of painter’s tape on the back.
Hang a personalized banner over doorway using command hooks and painter’s tape.
Welcome students to the classroom with the message that you’ll always have your eyes on them!
