- Pool Noodle
- Roll of Kraft Paper
- Giant Palm Leaves
- Acrylic Paint – browns
- Flexible Wire
- Hot Glue Gun
- Wood Dowel
- Wood Scrap
- Scotch Tape
Create a stand for your DIY palm tree by screwing a wood dowel to a scrap piece of wood. Slide your pool noodle over this dowel stand and now you have your height!
Cut a piece of kraft paper that wraps around the pool noodle with a slight overlap.
Scrunch and crinkle the kraft paper. The more wrinkles in this step, the better!
Flatten slightly and wrap this wrinkled paper around the pool noodle. Use hot glue to hold it in place.
Cover the pool noodle fully with pieces of this wrinkled kraft paper.
Insert pieces of flexible wire into the top of the pool noodle.
Curve and form palm leaves to follow these wired shapes. Use tape to secure together. Add more leaves to make a more full palm tree effect.
Use acrylic paint to transform the wrinkled kraft paper into a tall palm bark. Alternate a light and darker brown color, giving a loose application look around in a ring pattern.
On the day of the party, stage your palm tree near the dessert table to bring in some height to your table display. Discover more Jungle Party ideas your friends will go ape over.
