It’s shower season! And not just the kind that rains down from the sky :). Celebrations for babies and brides are in full swing this time of year and if you happen to be throwing a soiree for one of these happy occasions, we’ve got a great party favor for you to gift guests.
This recipe can be customized by swapping out the essential oil combination to create a scent you love. Maybe you like rose or lavender or mint. This is your party. Let the guests leave with something you love!
The ingredient list is short: coconut oil, granulated sugar, lime zest and flavoring oils (for an added lime and coconut scent-sation).
We use a 2:1 ratio of sugar to coconut oil. So for 1 ½ cups of finished scrub, start with ½ cup coconut oil.
To the coconut oil, add 1 cup sugar then mix the two together. If you’d like the scrub to be less like a paste, add more coconut oil until you reach your desired consistency.
Zest one lime into the scrub.
Add some drops of flavorings if you’d like the smells to be even richer. (TIP: For better control over the number of drops dropped, use an eye dropper to get the flavorings from their bottles to the mixing bowl.)
Package the sugar scrub in these sealable apothecary jars. The recipe amounts we used above will fill three jars.
Label each jar with a Happy Tree Personalized Sticker and top with a Stainless-Steel Measuring Spoon tied with baker’s twine.
Scrub will last for several weeks at room temperature.
