If you think back to those classic Universal Studios monster movies, they tend to have one thing in common – a creepy abode! Paint and decorate these containers to transform them into a haunted, mystery mansion table display and light it up with battery powered tea lights!

Supplies:
- Recycled cardboard boxes and juice cartons
- Black spray paint
- Craft knife
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Sharpie Marker
- Ruler
- Cardstock
- Yellow Tissue Paper
- Craft Sticks
- Hot Glue Gun
- Popsicle sticks
- Spiderweb
Collect boxes and containers of all different sizes and shapes and lay out a general design for your haunted mansion. It helps to sketch something out!
Next, use your craft knife and scissors to cut out different designs to create windows and doorways or create new roof shapes. Tip: make sure you have access from the back or underneath to add window coverings and battery-powered candles at a later step!
Once you are happy with your design, use hot glue to adhere the boxes together. Craft sticks make great fence but glue them on crooked for an eerie look!
Lay your full mansion out in a well-ventilated area and apply light layers of black spray paint to cover.
Once dry, use cardstock to build other elements you may need for this mansion, like shutters and longer peaked roofs. To make it even more gloomy, add tissue paper to cover the window openings. Add spider webbing and other decorative elements to create an aged and haunted look.
Display your finished recycled haunted mansion as the centerpiece at your Classic Monsters themed party and impress guests with your recycling skills!
