Fold cupcake liners in half, add a dot of glue, and then fold in half again to create a triangle shape. Repeat with all your wrappers. For this 18” tree, we used 4 packages of wrappers.

Start at the bottom of your Styrofoam cone and begin gluing the triangle shaped wrappers as one row around the cone.

Repeat these steps to create another row, making sure to overlap the seams so none of the cone shows.

Complete these steps to cover the whole cone. Once towards the top, apply a dab of glue to the top, lay one wrapper on top and fold down towards the sides. Overlap more wrappers around the sides for a seamless look. If desired, insert a snowflake cupcake topper at the top to complete the design.

To decorate your cone with cupcake wrappers, first attach wrappers together to create a long strip. Cut to the desired length to wrap around the bottom of the cone and use tape, not hot glue, on the inside to secure. Note: hot glue wasn’t used at all on this cone!

Repeat the above steps with different sized wrappers so they will stack nicely when assembled on the cone, starting from the bottom up. Finish with a cupcake pick!

Crepe paper streamer cones

Materials 2

What you need:

  • Hot glue gun
  • Styrofoam cones
  • Snowflake cupcake toppers
  • Crepe paper streamers

Crepe paper streamers don’t have to just be high flying for party designs! Turn them into fringe friendly designs to create a snowy tree!

Starting at the bottom, wrap one layer of crepe paper around the cone to get the size. Once size is determined double it. For each layer of the tree, you’ll need two layers of crepe paper as they can be a little thin as a single layer. Use scissors to make slits half way through the length to create a fringe look.

Repeat additional layers to cover the whole cone. Once complete, turn the cone over and use yours hands as a fork and loosely comb over the layers to fluff the fringe up slightly.
