Something wicked this way comes and is about to cast a spell on you! Both those who identify with the Wicked Witch of the West or Good Witch of the North, are welcome to kick off their pointy shoes and enjoy some Hall-o-wine at our enchanted Witches Night Out celebration. This party begins at witching hour and will serve up yummy snacks, playful desserts, and a softer take on Halloween décor.
Use your witches broom to sweep away the typical orange and black Halloween scheme then conjure up some soft pastels for a unique spin on this ghouls night out.
This party post was styled, shot and written by Tara at Spot of Tea Designs. Her powers of enchantment go beyond party planning! Check her blog for printables and helpful lifestyle tips for witches and wizards like you!
Witches Gathering Invitations
Skip the E-vite and send some old fashion snail mail! Friends will be ready to grab their broom and fly on over to your Witches Night Out celebration when receiving your invite in their mailbox. Keep the color palette going when adding a little Halloween imagery (available in our free printable) to this iridescent invitation. Inside, leave details suggesting they come dressed as their favorite witch and to bring an appetizer or snack to share with the coven.
Witches Gathering Decorations
Moms are well aware of the horrors of “witching hour” but in this case, it’s a welcomed sign of fun!
Display this or any phrase of choice using letter balloons that require no helium. Tip: grab a can or two of spray paint to customize these balloons to match any color palette, including the pastel one used here.
Flank both sides of your wall of words with hanging lanterns painted to match and sporting child-sized witch hats.
Create witch brooms with sticks from the yard and tissue paper garland tassels or just drape them along the front of your dessert table.
Use the Halloween season as an excuse to play dress-up, adult style! If friends don’t have access to their own witch costume, leave a few extra witch hats at the entrance. Let them decided which witch is which and if they’re more black rose, vintage, or a deluxe witch.
Gently teeter on the “is it cute or is it spooky” line with this centerpiece of pastel-painted skulls.
Witches Gathering Food & Drink
It’s best to offer up some snacks so no one gets… witchy!
Forget eye of newt and toe of frog and instead create a mini Halloween charcuterie platter with an assortment of grazing choices, like white chocolate strawberry ghosts, monster (muenster) cheese or booberries (blueberries).
Stick a pretzel stick in a mini Reese’s peanut cup and BOOM you have a sweet and salty witch broom snack!
Whip up one of these 7 deadly delicious dips to share with your girls.
Offer some savory chocolate treats in mini cauldron pots with a pair of paper straw witch legs sticking out!
Top of a fudge striped cookie with a Hershey’s hug using some chocolate “glue” and you have a cute little witch hat!
Stage a wine bar where guests can enjoy a sip of their favorite flavors.
Dress up your wine bottles with Halloween wine labels that play up this Witches Night Out theme. Would you rather enjoy some Rose from the Dead or just a glass of Mummy’s Time Out?
Both are welcomed to be sampled in painted wine goblets.
Use a larger plastic cauldron as an ice bucket for anyone who needs to chill down.
Witches Gathering Activities
Chances are, with a group of women plus some wine, you won’t run out of things to talk or laugh about. But in case you want some planned activities, consider some of these arts and witchcrafts:
- Craft up Halloween wreaths to decorate their doors
- Paint wine glasses with Halloween designs
- Give string art a try
- Plan ahead and host a Bunco game night
- If you’re really adventurous, break out the Ouiji board!
